Academic Records

Maintaining accurate and secure student academic records, including grades, transcripts, and degree audits

Chosen or Preferred Name

A Chosen or Preferred Name is the name a student wishes to be known by in the RPI community that is not their Legal Name.

Final Grades

Final grades for the semester are available to students through the Student Information System (SIS).

GPA Calculation

Every time a student passes a course, they receive both a designated number of credit hours and a number of quality points, which are calculated by multiplying the course credit hours and the numerical equivalent of the letter grade received. To determine the grade point average, divide the total number of earned quality points for all courses by the total number of credit hours scheduled.

Incomplete (I) Grade

The I (incomplete course work) is given when, due to illness or other circumstances such as personal emergency beyond the student's control, a student has been unable to complete the required course work.

Repeating a Course

When students repeat an identical course, both grades appear on the student record.

Graduates who have lost or damaged their diplomas can order a replacement for $50.00. Graduates who want a e- diploma can order it for $10.00.

Anyone who attended RPI can request an official transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC).
