Academic Requirements

In addition to the curriculum requirements listed in the Rensselaer Catalog for each major, students must complete the Communication Intensive (CI), Professional Development II, and Data Intensive (DI) requirements.

Adding a Double Degree

A second bachelor’s degree requires at least 30 credits above and beyond those used for the first bachelor's degree.

Declare a Minor

As an undergraduate student, you may choose a set of courses based on subject, methodology, or other factors to form a minor. Many departments offer one or more such minors, several of them interdisciplinary.

Degree Works

Degree Works is a web-based program used to track academic progress. Undergraduate students and advisors/faculty can see what College requirements have been met and what courses are needed to fulfill the remaining requirements.

Dual Major

A dual major requires fulfilling the degree requirements for two curricula. One diploma will be awarded which notes both majors.

Graduate Change of Status

A graduate student who wishes to change from one curriculum or department to another must file a Graduate Change of Status Form.
