Transferology is a nationwide network designed to help students explore their college transfer options. The goal is to save students time by providing a quick, intuitive way of getting college transfer credit questions answered.
Students can answer the question “Will my courses transfer?” by adding coursework, exams, and/or other learning experiences to see how many schools in the Transferology network have matching courses that may be awarded when they transfer to RPI. They can also find out what their options are for taking classes over the summer (or whenever) at another school to transfer back to RPI by using the “Find a Replacement Course” feature.
Use this feature when you want to transfer to or attend RPI and are looking to see if your courses or exams might transfer. A preliminary, unofficial credit evaluation can be conducted by using Transferology. A course equivalent listed in Transferology or the Transfer Guide does not guarantee transfer credit in all cases. The information provided is not a comprehensive list of all institutions or all courses at a particular institution. Transfer credit may be granted for courses not listed after review by faculty. An official transfer evaluation will be completed upon acceptance and deposit.
- Enter all the courses you’ve taken or are planning to take at your current school, then click Search for Matches. RPI will be the first institution to populate with your results.
If you are a newly admitted freshman and looking to transfer your dual enrollment courses taken in High School, the courses are only eligible for transfer if the credits were not used toward your high school graduation requirements. Please review the process and policy for requesting dual enrollment credit here.
Use this feature if you are a currently enrolled student and are looking to take a course, or courses, somewhere else for credit at RPI.
- Enter the course that’s offered at RPI, then click Search for Matches. You’ll see a list of schools that offer a course that RPI may approve to transfer back. You can use filters to narrow the results by distance from zip code, state, tuition & fees, size, public or private, by your marked favorites, or even one specific school – allowing you to choose the most efficient and convenient option to stay on track.
If you have not completed the Transfer Credit Approval Form prior to taking a course, it is not guaranteed that the course will transfer. Students are only able to receive the amount of credit a course is taken for at the external institution.
