Cross Registration

Cross-Registration at Consortium Colleges in the Capital Region:

  • Courses taken at a consortium college will appear on your student record, similar to those taken at Rensselaer carrying term, cumulative hours, and grade points.
  • Tuition costs for courses taken at a consortium college are covered by tuition charges at Rensselaer and are subject to Rensselaer course regulations. You are responsible for additional charges such as lab and activity fees.
  • To qualify, you must be a full-time student.
  • You may take no more than half of your academic credits at a consortium college during any semester.
  • You cannot cross-register for courses offered at Rensselaer.
  • If you are a graduate student, your cross-registration course must be on your approved Plan of Study before you enroll in a course taught at a consortium college. The Office of Graduate Education reserves the right to decline a course toward a degree program if it was not listed on an approved Plan of Study.
