Adding a Course to the Class Hour Schedule

If a course has been approved by FSCC in the prior academic year or already resides in the academic catalog, adding a course to the next term’s schedule can be granted. Faculty should contact their department scheduler with the information regarding their request for a new class so that it can be added to the schedule in the proposed term.

The department scheduler will submit this information to the registrar’s office.  Information that is required for a new course to be offered should include: specific days, times, overall capacity, and, if known, a preferred classroom or building. Restrictions, such as class levels (open or closed to freshman, sophomores, juniors, seniors) and majors (open or closed to biology, specific engineering majors, etc.), can be added prior to students registering for the course.

New course submissions should be established in the system by the department scheduler prior to pre-registration, if possible. Late submissions may be allowed on a case-by-case basis.
